SUMMARY:An Exhibit of the Paintings of Meridale Barber/Artist Joseph Santora
DESCRIPTION:In 1933\, Joseph Santora established a barbershop in Meridale\, which doubled as his studio. He became known for his landscapes of Meridale and the surrounding area\, and people interested in his art often stopped by to view his work in progress. \nHe exhibited his paintings in the Annual Cooperstown Art Exhibit and occasionally in NYC\, but never tried to sell them\, preferring to give them away as gifts or for fundraisers for charity or community purposes. \nThis exhibit consists of twelve of his paintings on loan from DCHA and one from MHS’s collection. The exhibit is open to the public free of charge. \nPrint
