History and Restoration of Bristol Tavern
June 21 @ 7:00 pm
By Jeffrey Hall and Frank Waterman
The purpose of this program is to dedicate the New York State Historical Marker that Meredith Historical Society erected to commemorate Bristol Tavern in West Meredith. This Federal style building was built by Amos Bristol circa 1800, and during the early 1800s, he and his wife, Jerusha Pratt, ran a tavern here for travelers on the Susquehanna Turnpike.
In this program, Frank Waterman will present a more detailed history of this historic building and owner, Jeffrey Hall, will tell us about the work he and his wife, Sharon, have done to restore Bristol Tavern to its original configuration.
Jeffrey and Sharon Hall will open Bristol Tavern to the public on Sunday, June 24th, from 1-4 pm so you can come and see the interior of this historic building and the work the Halls have done to restore it.
