Meredith Historical Society has more than a dozen scrapbooks in its collection that contain newspaper articles folks cut out and saved long ago. Several such articles will be presented in this program. You will hear about:

- Charlie Haynes recollections of his years working as a blacksmith in East Meredith.
- The flood in East Meredith in 1892.
- Albert Strickland’s trip to Oneonta to see the first passenger train arrive in 1865.
- Cecil Francisco’s oxen and how he trains them to work.
- The forced closing of the District 16 School (Shackport) in 1967.
- An evening program in East Meredith’s Thompson Hall in 1893.
- The largest work horses in Meredith.
